Why it’s all good
I was 22 with no noteworthy college education, and I was being paid to travel and be a part of TV shows. In the midst of this, I found out my girlfriend got pregnant. At the time I was very scared because I was still on a PA’s salary, and was very new on the RTV scene.

Every pre-production orientation meeting stresses the importance of audio to tell their story. Yet, at the end of the day, it is unbelievable how some directors and producers will come up to a crew and thank only the camera operator.

One person in the pass van with me exclaimed, “Look at that boat sitting in the middle of nowhere, what a waste”. Sometimes shuttling to location has its own unexpected benefits.
