The peepee dance...

I was mixing on yet another show about young ditsy girls trying to make it in the fashion biz and it was the beginning of a regular two-person scene. Two girls, 2 cameras, 2 lights, 2 mics, pretty simple. They were directed by their boss to do the mundane task of stuffing and licking envelopes. It was seemed to be a scene that would be terribly boring to watch but was meant to belittle these high maintenance divas. We didn’t expect the task would be so boring that they would start to get loopy. The girls began making jokes and being silly. I started wondering what was in the glue on those envelopes. After about 5 minutes of full on laughing, it took an unexpected turn. One of the girls was laughing so hard she couldn’t stop. She looked like she was going to run out of breath as she was holding her stomach. She kept saying “Wait, wait, you’re going to make me pee. I have to go to the bathroom.” Even though she said this, she remained seated. Then all of a sudden I saw something on the floor below her chair. I couldn’t believe that she actually began to piss herself. A huge puddle formed and all the laughing stopped. She turned from all giggles to total embarrassment. All of us on the crew just looked at each other in amazement and disgust. Then in her spoiled royal highness way, she got up from the chair and looked to the producer, "Can you clean that up?". Needless to say, I was very glad that I didn’t put the mic on a thigh strap that day!
